Because of the generosity of the citizens and businesses in Winnsboro, the Winnsboro Volunteer Fire Department conducted a very successful Christmas Project again this year. According to WVFD social media, this year every child received multiple toys, stocking stuffers, candy, and a blanket. Families received a gift card for food along with a certificate from Brookshire’s for a Christmas hen for each family. WVFD also provided food cards and blankets to every home within the low income/elder housing districts.
Brookshire’s employee Jenny Cook motivated the giving by the local Brookshire’s by asking for donations for her 50th birthday. Those donations assisted in funding the gift cards.
