The Winnsboro Rodeo Association held their 62nd Annual event May 19-21 and it was as successful as ever. With over 250 UPRA rodeos that take place around the nation each year, the Winnsboro rodeo weighs in as a consistent top five performer in terms of money added for rodeo competitors.
This year’s three-day event drew as many as 3600 attendees. Friday was Family Night and brought in a crowd of 1700.
Veterans and first responders were honored Thursday. Admission was free to all thanks to Heroes Ranch and the Winnsboro Livestock and Dairy Auction. The Wood County Cowboy Church sponsored Friday’s gate with free admission.
Rodeo royalty for 2022 are Miss WRA Kylie Harris, Miss WRA Teen Brittan Hill, Miss WRA Princess Jayden Lindsey, and Miss WRA Jr Princess Jewel Simpson.
The Winnsboro Rodeo Association was formed in 1960. Board of directors are president Jimmy Busby, vice president Jason Huston, secretary/treasurer Amanda Morgan, queen directors Kat Gillean and CoDee Morgan, and board members Stephanie Busby, Fallon Nantz, Jonathan Attaway, Vicki Parker, Jeanette Giles, Daniel Gregg and Somar Gregg.
